New Blog spot location~

Just wanted to let the two people know who read my blog-i've moved over to word press- my new blog address is

http://catholicmommaof6.wordpress.com/

A tad calmer today...

So after my entire day was spent either sitting or lying down, I realize I may have sounded a tad grouchy with my last blog.  I do apologize.  But this is why I am a stay at home mom of soon to be 6 children and I no longer try to reach out to the crazed world we live in.  I am just going to do what Mother Theresa says and clean my toilets because that is exactly where God has me right now!

But I am also feeling much better physically today as well.  Monday-my sweet hubs had to work in the middle of the night (remember, bad guys don't work 9-5)so he was able to meet me after I picked up little ME from preschool.  We went to Wegmans (the BEST grocery store in the WORLD) and ate a light lunch in which he made fun of me profusely because he said this pregnancy (which is our 10th) has brought about the most bizarre food cravings for me yet.  I went to get ME a slice of pizza and turned around and was met with the most beautiful Asian food bar I've ever laid eyes on!  I thought to myself-I'll just take a little....

Wegman's has all kinds of containers so I really did just get the small one and crammed it full with fried rice, spicy chicken, a shrimp roll, fried green beans and something else I can't remember the name of, but it reminded me of fried noodles.  Oh.My.Heavens.

Anyway-he laughed at me.  Which lately has become easier and easier.

So continuing on... we then grocery shopped (which we should never do together because 1. I forgot the grocery list and 2. we always find "fun" things we would never buy if we were alone!

We got home and I convinced him to help me get the baby stuff out of the basement and see what we had and maybe start rearranging our room a bit to make room for the bassinet and never ending pile of diapers!

I didn't realize how much I had given away over the years, but in my defense, it has been 11 years since we've had a baby boy-so NO baby boy stuff exists in this house and 4 1/2 years since ME came along, and I now can clearly remember so many times bringing baby clothes or items to church for a family, or a single mom who was having a baby and had a need.  I felt guilty hording that stuff in my basement - so that is why we have 3 neutral outfits (which is fine-Target will be open after this baby is born) 5 onsies that are plain white with no pink (just in case the odds are for a boy-which after 4 girls - and only 1 boy - they probably are not) and 1 neutral baby blanket and 2 pink blankets (in semi-good shape!)

The bassinet was still standing-which considering it's almost 40 years old (i was a baby in it and yes, it's safe-I wouldn't dare place my children in anything that's been recalled-well, except my crib, but my hubs says he can rig the sides to never be able to drop down) -imagine sheepish grin here-
and the bassinet cover still fits!!

So we then ventured upstairs to our room and began the tedious task of moving furniture.  Ok, reality check-he moved furniture, I directed.  I also dusted and vacuumed and let me tell you, after 3 years of being in this house-there was a TON of dust behind the furniture!  It was distusting as my little ME says...

Needless to say, with all the standing, bending over, physical labor I took on Monday, I had some rather uncomfortable pain "down there" if you know what I mean, through the night and woke up feeling like I had been run over by a bus Tuesday morning.  My hubs was concerned about the pressure, frankly I was too, I'm only 32 weeks, so we still have a good few weeks of baking to do before this oven is done-so he suggested (lovingly of course) after I drop off ME at preschool, to come home and rest.  Which I did, and I felt so much better this morning!!!  But I guess it led me to sound a tad grouchy with the last post.  I am just a fired up Catholic who stays at home and reads entirely too many news articles (and then reads the comments below them-which is just dumb!!!)

So enjoy your Wednesday.  I might try to upload a picture of my newly "remodeled" bedroom.  Remember, I am about as techno-savvy as a forest animal...

Catholic and nothing more...

I've been very troubled lately.

Not mentally, although, if you spoke to my hubs he might suggest I am mental, but it would be purely out of jest.

I've been troubled by the mainstream media and journalism in general.

No surprise here, but there is a LOT of bias out there.  And with this HHS mandate now in full swing, it's getting rather ugly out there.

And it appears that it's apparently rather taboo to be Catholic -or let me clarify that to be sure- it's taboo to be a solid, believe in the true Catholic church, Catholic.  Follow me?  Ok, it's taboo to believe that no, women should not be priests, contraception is morally wrong, marriage should in fact, be between one man and one woman (seriously folk, love all you want, but the parts don't work together if it's not that way-it's like a puzzle ok?), the Eucharist is in fact the Body & Blood of Christ, and so on and so forth.

Now do you follow?

And I read the most opinionated article in the Washington Post today where this "journalist" (which I term lightly) actually gives reasons for not ever cheering for Notre Dame because they joined the lawsuit against the HHS mandate even after they invited the most pro-death president our country has ever elected (twice now) to speak at their college.

Don't get me wrong, ND isn't high on my list of colleges I would encourage my children to go to, but as we all know, most colleges are made up of some of the most liberal people in the world who feel it is their mission to un-indoctrinate our children.  If I could, I would home school college-but since I know my limitations- I shall trust that God will protect my children and everything my hubs and I have done to instill in them a firm foundation will not be rocked.  But....

Despite their lack of, say sense, in inviting our president to speak, Notre Dame is full of very intelligent professors who actually see right through the HHS mandate and it's little "slippery slope" and see why it's imperative we stand together to stop this onset of mandatory government regulations that oppose people's religious convictions (whether they practice them or not).

I suppose I ranted on FB today about it a tad harshly.  I actually stated that there is no such thing as a "moderate political Catholic."  Which is what this "journalist" insisted dominates the Catholic Church.  I also stated very plainly that if you are, find another religion.  For 2000 years, find me another religion that has survived despite it's screw ups and if you can find me a more perfect Christian religion without any blemishes, I'll consider joining.  I also stated that my fellow FB peeps needed to learn (or relearn) their faith before they leave it and start spewing venom about what they think they know about the Church.  I also very clearly stated that if they then decided to leave the Church that they needed to ask me why I chose to stay.

I know, say what you will about FB.   I like to say I have a  love/hate relationship with the too big for it's britches, social media site.  On one hand, I love how I can get so many sites all at once that feed me so much information (almost too much).  But on the other hand, I hate how people act on FB.  You know, there are so many different kinds of people on it that are very temperamental.  The ones who hate you because you try to see the glass half full.  The ones who hate you because you (without trying) see the glass half empty.  The ones who are right and you NEVER are and the ones who are just hell-bent on trolling on every site they hate just to be keyboard bullies...

So, as the case would have it, practically no one responded on my post.  I have some peeps who probably even read it, snorted, then said to themselves, "muhahahahaha...just wait my pretty.  We are changing the Catholic church.  And you will conform."   I know that sounds a tad crazy, but there are some crazy Catholics out there.  Just hang out with my family.  We top the list.

So, my goal is to relax more and blog more and stress less about my faith.  I have prayed and prayed for God to guide me where He wants me.  I have offered my services blog for my church (don't worry-I promised to keep it PG in the hopes of not seeming like a raving lunatic), I teach religion, I help with our MOMs group, but I feel God is calling me somewhere else.

So pray for me.  Pray for me to find my nitch and seek God's guidance.  I'll pray for you, too.

January 2013?

Was September really the last time I blogged?  Good grief.  And I sometimes scold my children for not continuing what they start.  Humble pie is being consumed as we speak.

I am SO behind my blog.  I think the pregnancy hormones along with the very depressing election, just sucked the life out of me and my desire to blog for a while.  So with that said, 2013 is a new year!  Going for gold this year!  I have 8 weeks left in this pregnancy and with that, I hope to make it a very blogfilled year.  Plus, I've read so many amazing blogs by some pretty amazing Catholic moms, that I feel inspired!!!

So here's to another year, another start to my blog and another attempt at completing the next 12 months with at least ONE blog per month.  (hey-I gotta set my sights fairly low...)
