I really do have some perfectly good excuses for not blogging until today. Usually when Ricky is out of town for a week, I'll do some of my best blogging (I'm rather biased to myself as you can tell), but for some reason, being in a new town, and this being the first time he's been gone since we moved up here, it's been a more difficult time then usual... Excuse #1.
Also, a terrible thing happened to my camera which almost devastated me... the battery died. I'm getting really tired of my camera. Maybe all cameras in general are like this, but I have even stopped using the screen to take my pictures and I just take them the old fashioned way by looking through the view finder (ha, old fashioned) but the battery doesn't last but maybe two months. And let me tell you, those darn batteries are 18.00 for two. That might be cheap for you, but remember, I'm on a budget and camera batteries every two months add up... Excuse #2.
My bike came in on Monday. This isn't any kind of exercise bike that you can pick up at your local sporting goods store, this is a top of the line spin bike that usually fitness clubs order for their spin classes. I ordered the middle of the road in cost one, (using some of our tax return, I guess we're part of the that 50% that don't have to "pay", even though we pay every two weeks...)in February and we were told in April it was stuck in customs in China. (where my bike was made, great, all you anti-china, anti-trade people, hate me now...as if I needed anymore reason for people to dislike me...) So when I got a phone call last Friday that my bike would be here Monday, I just KNEW I would be able to put it together and begin FINALLY some type of cardio workout... wrong. I could barely get the 100 lb bike in the door let alone attempt to drag it down a flight of stairs into the basement by myself... assembling it doesn't look too difficult, but it would add more weight to the already heavy bike center piece, so forget it... Excuse #3.
Because I couldn't get my bike assembled, I got really agitated and decided I was going to be obstinate the rest of the week...
oh wait, that's what my children do when they don't get what they want... well, it works for them... Excuse #4.
Anyway, sorry for the excuses, it has been a hard week. But we did go to Mass for Ascension Thursday last night and the kids did FANTASTIC... we of course sat with a family we know that they love dearly, so that helped. JT has his orientation for William Street School tonight. I can't believe my baby is going to be in the 4th grade in September. (BTW-they start school September 7th...) We will find out what instrument he'll be playing in the band tonight so we can go ahead and rent it and have him start lessons this summer. Anyone that wants to contribute to the Amy Blair children's instrument lesson fund, please email me ASAP. We're hoping to find a place to get Em some piano lessons starting this summer, too.
Ricky will be home tomorrow evening until Sunday and he'll head out to Pittsburgh for the next week. I'll try to have less excuses next week. I did buy batteries for the camera today... ;)
Have a blessed weekend and praise God for all the gifts He has given you. We are blessed more then we deserve.
