We have grass!!!

OK, maybe the title is a little over the top, we have "grass" and by grass, I mean, we have little tiny sprigs of grass in various parts of the yard!  It makes the million dollars we're spending on watering all day and my ruined tennis shoes and the hard labor I've put into growing it, all worth it!  For now!  It's always good to see something you've put your heart and soul into and worked hard on come to fruition.  I see that in my children, too.  Although, sometimes seeing that fruit is difficult through all the fruit flies... :)
But I will post some pics of the cute little grass sprigs.  I hope you can see them, too.  If not, maybe you'll just have to come visit.  BUT DON'T GET IN MY YARD!!!  :)  I have a guard dog named Little G and she'll shoo you out of the yard.  Her and I have worked very hard the last two weeks with this watering lawn business....
Speaking of business. Had a landscaper come and give me an estimate on landscaping.  Remember, I said that is not something that is standard in a new build up here?   Well, that is really not necessarily true.  What I've found out is that our builder decided after he built our house, he would not include grass or landscaping and I fought the good fight to get grass (for a price mind you...) so I didn't push the landscaping.  Well, the guy asks, "What's your budget?  Are we talking 3000?"  Are you kidding me, I thought?  Doesn't he see the five children running around like banshees all over?  Did he not see the two Honda mini vans in the garage?  Do I look like I'm made from money?  I said, "Oh, much lower."  Finally at the end, I basically said, "Let's find out how much it will cost to just bring in some top soil, mulch and a bush or two."  He looked very irritated, I'm sure I'm not a cash winner for him, but hey, I've got the rest of my life to add to my flower beds...
Then we had a deck guy come out and give us an estimate on decking.  And the deck would be this really cool maintenance free stuff that you literally just have to hose off and it comes clean (recycled plastic?) anyway, it looked very cool and again if money grew on trees I would have the entire backside of my house decked, (I love decks!!). So he measured and wrote up an estimate, are you ready?  almost 7,000.  Holy moly.  I about had a heart attack right there.  Yikes!  Wow!  Ummmm... maybe rethinking this deck thing.  We also had an estimate on adding an extra pad to our driveway for Ricky's work car, and a 12x12 concrete pad in the backyard for him to one day build a storage shed, and it was a little more bearable.  I can't remember, but I think it was just a smidge over 2,000.  A lot of money, but we have it put back in savings...
So, as you can see, lots going on at the Blair house.  Not just the very cool, very tiny sprigs of grass...
It's Wednesday afternoon.  The week is halfway over.  You've made it this far!
May God bless you and give you something to smile about everyday.
See the green "haze?"  Sprigs baby!

Now this is a close up.  You can really see them!

I had to include this.  It's been in the 60's here, but my little Eskimo has been wearing her snow boots everywhere, and someone left the coat closet open and I have hats/gloves/scarves in a hanging shoe holder and she just helped herself to a hat.

This photo speaks for itself...
