This and That

Good beautiful Tuesday afternoon to all my blogging family and friends!  What an absolutely glorious Tuesday up here in the great area of Western New York... I could get used to this place.  The humidity is low, a "heat wave" is considered in the mid-80's, and Lake Erie's air conditioning system keeps it cool in the evening...  But you've got to see it to believe it.  In the sunshine derby, you guessed it, Buffalo is now AHEAD of Orlando, FL.  All you pessimists out there watch out!
Saturday I treated myself to a well deserved, well OVERDO haircut.  I not only got about 6-7 inches cut off, but I also had some highlights added.  In all my 37 years I have never colored my hair (and trust me, Sun In does not count) so this was a real treat!  I love it!  I also love my new hair dresser who is just wonderful...
Last night I went to a contemporary christian concert.  The opening act was a local fellow from Canada, (can't remember his name, but he wasn't the important one-just kidding, he was great, but not who I came to see) and the main act was Matt Maher.  If you don't know contemporary christian music, I encourage you to go to itunes or YouTube and check out his music.  He is probably best known for Alive Again.  It was at the ministry building of St. Gregory the Great (our new church) and he was basically in between concerts (Canada night before and Cincinnati tonight) so he got in touch with the youth director and set up a concert there!  It was amazing!  What a great performer.  I forgot my camera of course, so no pics, but look him up, he's incredible...
Today I met with my new spiritual director.  For those of you not familiar with spiritual direction, it's someone who (is trained of course) directs you and helps guide you on your spiritual journey with Christ.  They can give you words to ponder, help you to find ways to increase your prayer life, and basically just be a voice of reason and give comfort!  I have seen a spiritual director off and on for almost 13 years.  This is the first time I have met with a woman.  I have always had a priest for a spiritual director and I only didn't go to the priest this time because I had heard this woman speak at our MOMs group at Church and she was just on fire for the faith and spoke the TRUTH so eloquently.  I knew she was where God was leading me.  She has four grown children and has "been there and done that" and understands how important it is for me to raise my children with a firm understanding in their faith and the faith of the Catholic church.  Our meeting went so wonderfully.  I hope she didn't mind my rambling, but if you think I ramble when I type on here, just imagine what I do when I talk about something I'm soooooo extremely passionate about, my faith.  We had some wonderful conversations and I left feeling ready to tackle all my challenges and ready to let God guide me from within...
We all have our crosses to bear.  Some more than others, some fewer, but no matter what, no matter what you feel, there is a God and He loves you very much.  He is waiting for you.  He longs for you to come to Him.  He gave you the choice.  What are you going to choose?  "As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord."  Joshua 24:15
God bless you today and have a terrific rest of Tuesday!  Tomorrow is hump day and soon it will be a three day weekend for the Blair family... oh what fun and trouble can we get into this weekend????
